A man was shot and critically wounded Sunday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 22-year-old was discovered outside with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 1400 block of North Mayfield about 9:10 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in critical condition to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, police said.
