A man was killed in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood.

Eric Banks, 25, was on the sidewalk about 1:51 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Wabash when someone got out of a vehicle and fired at him, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Banks, who lived in the same block, was shot multiple times in the back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:36 p.m., authorities said.
