A 26-year-old man was killed in a shooting Monday evening in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Police responded to a call of a person shot at 7:44 p.m. and found Deontae T. Nichols lying in the 1600 block of North Keystone unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his body and head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Nichols was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 4300 block of West Cortez.
