A Tennessee man who was taken into custody following a bank robbery Thursday in the South Loop won’t face charges in connection with the incident.
The robbery happened at 11:55 a.m. at the BMO Harris Bank branch at 522 W. Roosevelt Rd., FBI spokesman Garrett Croon said. The alleged robber, 39-year-old Jason Carter, didn’t show a weapon during the robbery.
Carter was taken into custody, but but after a joint review of the situation, no federal charges were filed by the U.S. Attorney’s office, Croon said.
Chicago Police turned Carter over to the U.S. Marshal on a federal warrant for a probation violation, but didn’t file charges related to the robbery.
