A man was shot early Thursday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 2:35 a.m., the 25-year-old was involved in an argument with another male in the 4700 block of West Arthington when the suspect pulled out a handgun and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the abdomen and taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
