One man was killed and another critically injured in a single-car crash Friday morning in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.
The car was speeding when it crashed into a tree at 8:22 a.m. in the 11300 block of South State, according to Chicago Police.
The driver, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The 22-year-old passenger was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical or “guarded” condition.
An autopsy on Saturday found the 19-year-old died of multiple injuries he suffered in the crash and his death was ruled an accident, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. His identity has not been released.
