A 23-year-old man was wounded Wednesday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The man was in a vehicle at 6:37 p.m. in the 5100 block of West Chicago Avenue when he was shot, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the back and arm and took himself to West Suburban Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No arrests have been made. Area North detectives are investigating.
