A man was shot early Wednesday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 43-year-old was standing outside about 1:50 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Sangamon when someone walked up and fired shots, striking him in the buttocks, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
