A 26-year-old man shot himself in the leg Monday evening in the Dunning neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The man accidentally fired a shot at 5:54 p.m. in an alley in the 3600 block of North Harlem Avenue, according to Chicago Police. He drove himself to Presence Resurrection Medical Center.

The victim had initially told police that a black SUV pulled up in the alley with four male occupants, and one of them opened fire, police said.
