A man was shot early Sunday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

At 12:17 a.m., the 23-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 400 block of South Kostner when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. He suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh.

He was taken to Rush University Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said. He was then transferred to Stroger Hospital.
