A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 26-year-old was parking his car in the 2400 block of North Meade at 12:37 p.m. when he was shot in the lower back, according to Chicago Police.

He drove himself to Community First Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, police said.
