A Chicago Police officer shot a dog Wednesday night in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The officer discharged his weapon and shot the dog about 11:50 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Trumbull, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

No people were injured in the incident, police said. Additional details were not immediately available.
