A man was shot Saturday evening in west suburban Aurora.
The 22-year-old was sitting in the driver’s seat of an SUV at 6:21 p.m. in front of a gas station and convenience store in the 1600 block of Montgomery Road when someone walked up and opened fire, according to Aurora police.
He was shot multiple times, then got out of the SUV and ran toward the gas pumps, where he collapsed, police said. He was taken to a hospital in good condition.
An 18-year-old woman who was also in the SUV wasn’t shot, police said.
The suspect ran around the back of the building, crossed Waterford Drive and got into a Dodge Neon parked near a drug store, according to police. The shooter was described as a black male, standing 5-foot-8 to 6-foot and weighing 110 to 120 pounds. He was wearing a dark hoodie with his face covered.
