Two suspects have been detained in connection with the fatal shooting of two men Friday night in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

The men — ages 50 and 30 — were on a porch about 8:50 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Wells when two males walked up to them and opened fire, Chicago Police said.

The older man was shot in his chest and leg, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The younger man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest and legs, where he died.

Neither death has been confirmed by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

After the shooting, the gunmen got into a white sedan and drove away, police said.

Officers have detained two possible suspects.
