A man was fatally shot Thursday afternoon in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood.

About 12:20 p.m., Derrick Murray, 29, was in the 4600 block of West Augusta when someone walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Murray was shot multiple times in his upper body, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:58 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the Lawndale neighborhood.
