One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Monday evening in the Southwest Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

The men were driving south in the 2600 block of West 63rd Street at 10:10 p.m. when someone walked up to their vehicle and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

Diego Sandoval, 21 , was pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital at 10:30 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Police said Sandoval, who lived just a couple of blocks away, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

Another bullet grazed a 26-year-old man in the chest, and his condition was stabilized at Holy Cross, according to police.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
