41-year-old man shot dead in Back of the Yards

A man was shot to death Tuesday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

Shortly before 5 p.m., a man walked up to 41-year-old Calvin Robinson in the 5200 block of South Bishop and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Robinson suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:13 p.m., authorities said. He lived about two blocks from the shooting.

The suspect was black man, thought to be between 25 and 30 years old, wearing a white shirt and red pants, police said.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
