A man was shot and seriously wounded early Thursday in the Pilsen neighborhood on the South Side.

The 41-year-old was shot in the chest about 1 a.m. while he was standing on the sidewalk in the 1900 block of South Peoria, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
