A man was shot Sunday night in the Far South Side Jeffery Manor neighborhood.

The 21-year-old was riding in a vehicle about 8:10 p.m. when a male walked up and shot him multiple times in the 9500 block of South Jeffery, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was driven by a friend to Trinity Hospital, and was later transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Investigators discovered evidence that someone in the victim’s vehicle might have returned fire at the gunman, but no arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning, police said.
