Man shot in West Woodlawn

A man was shot early Sunday in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The 19-year-old was standing outside at 12:07 a.m. on the sidewalk in the 400 block of East 61st Street when he heard gunfire and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the head and left shoulder and taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
