A 54-year-old man was shot Monday afternoon in the Southwest Side Garfield Ridge neighborhood.

About 3:15 p.m., the man was standing in front of a car in the 4400 block of South Leclaire when people walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the right leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
