A man was wounded early Saturday in an Austin neighborhood shooting on the West Side.

The 40-year-old was getting out of his vehicle about 3 a.m. when someone in a passing car opened fire in the 5500 block of West Congress, according to Chicago Police.

He was struck in the ankle and taken to University of Illinois Hospital in good condition, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
