A man committed suicide Monday afternoon in downtown Chicago.

Jesse Pajente, 35, shot himself in the head about 4 p.m. in the 100 block of South Riverside Plaza, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. He lived in Niles.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died at 5:58 p.m., authorities said. An autopsy Tuesday ruled his death a suicide.
