Loop-bound Chicago Transit Authority Purple Line express trains were delayed in Evanston Tuesday morning.

Trains were standing at the South Boulevard station due to a mechanical problem, according to the CTA.

Trains are moving and normal service was being restored about 6:40 a.m. Passengers were encouraged to allow extra travel time, the CTA said.
