Parolee arrested in Glenview after escaping from custody on South Side

A man who escaped the custody of the state’s Department of Corrections Tuesday morning was later arrested in north suburban Glenview.

Kir Moorman, 29, was last seen about 10:30 a.m. during a compliance check in the 2700 block of East 81st Street, according to a Lindsey Hess, an IDOC spokeswoman, and Chicago Police.

A parole agent tried to restrain Moorman when he resisted and took off with one hand cuffed, authorities said. He was later arrested about 7 p.m. in Glenview. No injuries were reported.

Moorman, who was wanted on a parole violation, was processed in the Central District before being turned over to IDOC, police said.

Moorman was released on parole April 6 after being sentenced to seven years in prison for a 2014 armed robbery charge, IDOC records show. He has prior convictions for drug possession, burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
