A man was shot early Tuesday in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 28-year-old was walking on the sidewalk when two males walked up to him and fired shots at 1:44 a.m. in the 10500 block of South May, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the left leg and was taken to Christ Medical Center where his condition stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
