All of the phone calls and legwork by teams over the last few months came to a head Tuesday with the MLB trade deadline. It was a busy afternoon as some teams added last-minute reinforcements while others sold off pieces in admission that this hasn’t been their year.

Some big names had already been on the move this month, including Manny Machado to L.A. and Mike Moustakas to Milwaukee, but this was still the last chance for most players to be movable in anticipation of the postseason. Starting Tuesday evening, players are required to pass through waivers in order to be traded.

The Cubs did much of their work before the deadline by acquiring pitchers Jesse Chavez and Cole Hamels in separate deals. They wrapped up their effort bolstering the pitching staff for the stretch run by sending a prospect to the Nationals for middle reliever Brandon Kintzler.

Here’s a look at every deal completed by teams Tuesday before the MLB trade deadline at 3 p.m. CT. Deals can still trickle in after the final minutes have passed, so it’s possible this list is updating soon with the final moves.
