A man was shot Friday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old was standing in the courtyard of a building at 3:09 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Kingston when he heard gunfire and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in his arm and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
