Authorities were investigating the death of a woman who was found bound in a bathtub Sunday night in the South Side Gresham neighborhood.

Shortly before 9 p.m., the body of 32-year-old Shantel Boler was found by a relative in a bathtub in the 1500 block of West 78th Street, according to Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Boler’s hands and feet were bound together, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. An autopsy Monday didn’t rule on the cause and manner of her death pending further investigation. Boler lived in the block where she was found.

Detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
