A man was killed and two other people were wounded Sunday night in a shooting in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

Nicholas Cox, 23, was standing in front of a home about 7:50 p.m. with a 32-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl in the 2700 block of South Dearborn when a white vehicle pulled up and a passenger got out and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Cox, who lived in the same neighborhood, was shot in the abdomen and buttocks, authorities said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died at 8:26 p.m.

The girl was shot in the buttocks and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said. The woman was shot in the left leg and was taken to Mercy Hospital in good condition.

The shooter got back into the vehicle, which drove off northbound on State Street, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
