A man was shot in a drive-by attack Tuesday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 26-year-old was standing about 9 p.m. on a front porch in the 1200 block of South Lawndale when a male inside a passing gray Pontiac sedan shot him in the back, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
