Man shot to death in Dolton

A man was shot to death Monday night in south suburban Dolton.

Murray Hayes, 27, was shot about 10:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of East 152nd Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the head and shoulder, Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins Jr. said. Hayes was pronounced dead shortly after.

The shooting was being investigated by the South Suburban Major Crimes Taskforce and Dolton police, Collins said.

Hayes lived in the same block where he was shot, the medical examiner’s office said.
