A woman has died several days after a crash in northwest suburban Des Plaines.

Janice Meyer, 67, was in a vehicle at 11:38 a.m. on April 11 when it was rear-ended at Wolf and Forest roads in Des Plaines, according to Des Plaines police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

She was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead at 11:43 a.m. on Monday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy found Meyer, who lived in Des Plaines, died from complications of multiple injuries from the crash, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled an accident.

The driver of the other vehicle was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, but no criminal charges are expected, according to police.
