A suspicious package was reported on a Metra train at the Barrington Station.

A Metra train was evacuated Tuesday at the northwest suburban Barrington Station after a suspicious package was reported on a train car.

The Village of Barrington Police Department got the report about 3:30 p.m. and searched the Northwest Line train with a canine unit after everyone was evacuated, Barrington police said.

The sweep did not yield any sign of a threat and trains began moving again just before 5 p.m., police said.
