A 53-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle last week in north suburban Deerfield.

The woman was in the Deerfields Bakery parking lot in the 800 block of Waukegan Road about 1:50 p.m. Sept. 13 when she was struck by a vehicle, according to Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper.

She was pronounced dead three days later at 1:20 p.m. on Monday at Highland Park Hospital, Deerfield police and Cooper said. A preliminary autopsy found she died of injuries from the crash.

The driver of the vehicle, a 68-year-old man, was arrested on the scene, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
