Bacon lovers, get ready to go hog wild over Dunkin’s newest item.

While Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and the official start of Lent, a time where some give up meat, the chain known best for its doughnuts and coffee started selling “Snackin’ Bacon.”

The new snack, which is eight half-strips served in a sleeve, has Sweet Black Pepper seasoning “to help on-the-go customers conquer their cravings without settling for tired and typical snacking choices,” the company said in a news release.

The bacon also is featured on Dunkin’s Sweet Black Pepper Bacon Breakfast Sandwich.

Dunkin’ made other announcements Wednesday about returning items, including Irish Creme-flavored coffee. The flavor can also be added to hot, iced and frozen coffees and handcrafted espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos and macchiatos.

The Lucky Shamrock Donut is now available for a limited time ahead of St. Patrick’s Day.

Two bowls — the Egg White Bowl and the Sausage Scramble Bowl — also are back, and Dunkin’ is adding to its Go2s national value menu with the addition of two Sausage, Egg & Cheese Wake-up Wraps for $3.
