Woman fatally struck by Brown Line train at Kedzie

Brown Line service was suspended between Western and Kimball.

A woman was struck and killed by a CTA Brown Line train Monday morning at the Kedzie Avenue stop on the Northwest Side.

The woman, 75, was struck around 8:45 a.m. in the 4600 block of North Kedzie Avenue, Chicago police said.

She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center and pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy ruled her death an accident, saying she died of multiple injuries from the crash, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Police were conducting a death investigation.
