Bears protest inequality during national anthem before Colts game

Many Bears players continued to protest racial injustice and police brutality by demonstrating during the national anthem before their home game Sunday against the Colts.

Eight players kneeled on the sideline during the anthem: linebacker Danny Trevathan, defensive end Mario Edwards, defensive tackle Akiem Hicks, defensive tackle Bilal Nichols, defensive end Brent Urban, defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris, right tackle Bobby Massie and linebacker Josh Woods.

Bears players have been more outspoken than ever about racial injustice over the past six months. Most recently, they boycotted a practice after police shot Jacob Blake in nearby Kenosha, Wis., and multiple players voiced frustration with the announcement of charges stemming from the shooting of Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Ky.
