The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday in Atlanta:
RICK MORRISSEY
Bears, 24-23
Let me just say I have no confidence in this pick. None. Zero. I just know that the Falcons are coming off a horrible loss to the Cowboys and that their defense has had trouble stopping anybody. Please do not bet money based on my prediction! Season: 1-1.
RICK TELANDER
Falcons, 24-23
At some point the Bears’ erratic offense has to catch up to reality. Which won’t be pretty. Nor can the Falcons, who hopefully spent this week studying onside-kick behavior, go winless. I just keep wondering when “Foles Time’’ will occur. And whether that will be good or worse. Season: 2-0.
PATRICK FINLEY
Falcons, 28-20
Through two weeks, the 0-2 Falcons are fourth in the NFL with 443 yards per game and fifth with 32 points per game. They might be playing for coach Dan Quinn’s job, too, after the debacle in Dallas. The Bears can’t compete with that desperation. Season: 2-0.
JASON LIESER
Falcons, 23-20
The Falcons are a mess and just blew a big lead against the Cowboys in a 40-39 loss, but they’re the best team the Bears have seen yet. Their offense, especially their passing attack, will be problematic. And given the Bears’ offensive woes, 20-plus points will be enough for Atlanta to win. Season: 2-0.
MARK POTASH
Falcons, 27-23
This is a not a bad matchup for the Bears, if their defense can rise to the challenge against the Falcons’ fifth-ranked scoring offense. But the Bears’ offense is not dependable at this point. Season: 2-0.
