Someone beat and robbed a 58-year-old man Sunday night in the Loop.

The man was hit in the head and kicked during the robbery about 10:40 p.m. in the 200 block of West Adams Street, according to Chicago police. The male suspect ran away with the his backpack.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
