A 24-year-old man was killed Tuesday when he was shot in Burnside on the South Side.

About 9:09 p.m., Deshaun Clarke was at a gas station in the 8700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when someone approached him from behind and shot him in the head, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

An autopsy found Clarke, who lived in Bronzeville, died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No arrests have been made as Area South detectives investigate.
