Aurora hit-and-run kills 57-year-old Brent Jean on South River Street: police

Brent Jean, 57, was found lying in the road in the 500 block of South River Street, police said.

A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Jan. 13, 2020 in the 500 block of South River Street in Aurora.

A 57-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday in west suburban Aurora.

Officers responded to reports of a person hit by a vehicle just before 7 p.m. to the 500 block of South River Street, where they found a Brent Jean lying in the road, Aurora police said. Jean, of Aurora, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities closed South River Street between Prairie Street and Second Street while officers investigated, police said. The vehicle that struck the man fled the scene.
