Man killed in Humboldt Park shooting

Alejandro Castro, 28, was found with a gunshot wound to the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

A man was shot to death Saturday in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

The 28-year-old was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head at 11:08 p.m. in the 3400 block of West North Avenue, according to Chicago police. Two males were seen running from the scene.

The man, identified as Alejandro Castro, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Humboldt Park.

An autopsy conducted Sunday confirmed that Castro died of his gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

No one is in custody as Area Five detectives investigate.
