Thief steals from vehicles in River North, West Town: police

In each case, the thief broke the vehicle’s windows to steal property from inside, Chicago police said.

Several thefts from vehicles were reported in March and April 2021 in West Town, River North and Fulton River District.

Police are warning residents of a series of thefts from vehicles reported in recent weeks in West Town, Fulton River District and River North.

In each case, the thief broke the vehicle’s windows to steal property from inside, Chicago police said.

The thefts happened:

  • Between 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. March 30 in the 500 block of North Union Avenue;
  • At 8:15 p.m. March 30 in the 400 block of North Union Avenue;
  • Between 7 p.m. and 12:05 a.m. March 30-31 in the 600 block of West Hubbard Street;
  • At 6:30 p.m. March 31 in the 600 block of West Hubbard Street;
  • At 7:35 p.m. April 1 in the 400 block of North Union Avenue;
  • At 9:30 p.m. April 2 in the 500 block of North Union Avenue;
  • At 9:50 p.m. April 7 in the 400 block of North Union Avenue;
  • Between 3:30 p.m. and 4:55 p.m. April 11 in the 700 block of West Hubbard Street;
  • Between 3:30 p.m. and 4:55 p.m. April 11 in the 500 block of North Union Avenue;
  • At 9 p.m. April 13 in the 500 block of North Union Avenue;
  • Between 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. April 14 in the 400 block of North Halsted Street; and
  • Between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. April 18 in the 600 block of West Hubbard Street.
