A 15-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting Sunday evening in Englewood on the South Side.

The teen was on the sidewalk about 6:05 p.m. in the 6700 block of South May Street when someone opened fire, Chicago police said.

He was shot in the neck and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
