WASHINGTON – Rep. Adam Kinzinger R-Ill., is backing GOP White House hopeful Jeb Bush – hitting Cleveland on Thursday for the first primary debate and stumping in Illinois on Friday with the son of the former Florida governor.
Kinzinger will be one of the Bush team surrogates in the “spin room” following the debate hosted by Fox News, Facebook and the Ohio Republican Party at the Quicken Loans Arena.
On Friday, Kinzinger, 37, will appear at events in Rockford and Chicago with Jeb Bush Jr., 31, aimed at a younger voter. They will hit the Rockford Brewing Company and, in Chicago, the Goose Island brewery on the North Side.
In 2012, Kinzinger was a surrogate for GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
