‘Pie,’ ‘Rookie’ star headed here

Hard to believe but this week marks the 15^th anniversary of the release of the groundbreaking teen flick “American Pie.” Among the stars of the film was Thomas Ian Nicholas, who also shot “Rookie of the Year” here — back when Chicago-area moviemaking wasn’t all that common.

The actor hits town to celebrate his birthday Saturday at Vertigo Sky Lounge in the Dana Hotel, plus throw out the first pitch at a Cubs game — plus play a gig with his band.
