The Chicago Bears will put a lid on beer sales during next Monday night’s football game against the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.
Park District Supt. Edmund L. Kelly said today he has agreed to a Bears proposal to end beer sales after the half-time intermission.
The beer-limiting proposal was made last week, before the arrest early yesterday of Bears coach Mike Ditka on a drunken-driving charge.
Ditka told a press conference yesterday that he was in “complete agreement” with the proposal.
The Bears also said they will turn away obviously drunken fans, giving them a ticket refund at the gate. This can be done without Park District approval.
