The rift between the 1985 Chicago Bears offense and defense was real. With the dominance of the defense, many believed all the offense needed to do was not mess up in order for the Bears to win.

Chicago Sun-Times columnist Rick Morrissey talked about if the ’85 Bears could have been as successful as they were even without controversial quarterback Jim McMahon.
