A 13-year-old boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition after being shot around 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 5500 block of West Jackson Boulevard in South Austin.

Two groups of people got into a “heated” argument, and someone pulled out a gun and fired shots, according to the police, who said the boy, who was standing down the street, was hit by a stray bullet in the lower back.

Hours after Williams said he asked the Bears for reasons why the team had a well-worn history of quarterback struggles, GM Ryan Poles said that “we’ve got to stop going back all the time.”
The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
